Booster Gold and Blue Beetle empty the JLA coffers and front a casino, with the two of them acting as the superhero attraction. F that saving people stuff - lets make some $$$$! The two think they're onto the perfect plan, however a couple of monkey wrenches are going to be tossed their way: a monster old as time who doesn't take kindly to casinos, and a card counter who also doesn't take too kindly to casinos.

Mr. Monster # 1: Origins

Writer/Artist: Michael T. Gilbert
Publisher: Dark Horse Comics
Published: February 1988

Another kick ass cover! Equal parts Batman-esque jumbled up with a fish creature dealio. The story revolves around Mister Monster losing the love of his life due to the demands of killing monsters. In the issue he uses a homemade flamethrower. Can't beat that.

Ok, the FF take on a giant tentacle monster. The kids are at risk, and the townsfolk besieged by the monster are not what they seem. Nuff said.

90 seconds starting now!

Ash is in the Marvel Universe where zombies have taken over. He meets Spider-Man and the Punisher. The Punisher punishes people. Ash then saves Dazzler, and is impressed by her. They decide to go to visit Dr. Strange to get the Necronomicon to stop the zombies. the zombies are winning, and Ash is running out of one liners...or is he?

Oh and Howard the duck makes a very special guest appearance. A pretty good comic considering it's just capitalizing on the zombie madness. Time!

Lady Death # 4

Writer: Brian Pulido
Aritist: Steven Hughes
Publisher: Chaos! Comics
Published: June 1995

Ladies Night! # 2

90 seconds starting....NOW!

Lady death is fighting Lucifer to regain her true self. She beats him up and kicks him in the nuts. Ouch. The artwork is pretty chaotic, with no defined panels, which makes for a cool and crazy read. So really there isn't too much beyond that. Lady Death kicking ass in a black bikini, and in this issue you are greeted with two tones of her: red or white. The devil is all red and bad. Did I mention he gets kneed in the nuts? TIME!

Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight # 54

batman surrounded by skeletonsWriters: Mike Mignola, Dan Raspler
Artist: Mike Mignola
Publisher: DC
Published: November 1993

This comic rocks. To cut to the chase its Lovecraft meets Batman, as only Mignola can produce. The story/art is just awesome. The only complaint I have is that Batman kills in self-defense. Batman doesn't kill. That's his thing. So, even when he kills in self-defense I can't help but feel uneasy about this. I know it's a grey area, but I figure of all people, it would be Batman who could figure out a way not to kill in self-defense. Anyway, that's time! Pick this comic up. It's probably one of Mignolas best looking comics ever.

Usagi Yojimbo Color Special # 3

Writer/Artist: Stan Sakai
Colorist: Tom Luth
Publisher: Fantagraphics
Published: September 1992

This issue has Usagi being deceived by a sly fox and Tomoe forced to hand out some samurai justice. The second tale has Usagi in space, kicking ass.

I used to have a Usagi toy as a kid and it rocked I would load up weapons on him and he made the ninja turtles jealous, as only a hare can do to a turtle. Too bad for him there are four of them to the one of him.

Hey I'm kinda liking these 90 second reviews. Gets shit done!
